Do u know what it's like to be a rape victim?
Now I probably sound like this Women-Empowerment-Obsessed-Person who only writes about such issues, but honestly, I really want people to read this.
I'm writing this because in order to reduce these horrible acts, simply making a law is not enough. No one cares. If ur a 16 yr old guy who has a bike, will u care about a law which tells u to wait for two more years?
So the point is, no one gives a damn to rules. It's the mentality which is supposed to change.
Which is what I aim by writing this. I am trying to change the mindset of those people who have absolutely no respect for a woman. This is an attempt to make these people more sensitive towards women and encourage others to do the same.
You know what a victim feels?
Emotional Shock. Disbelief. Embarrassment. Guilt. Shame. Depression. Anger. Trauma. For the rest of her life.
She cannot sleep. She gets nightmares every night. She lives the pain agian and again every night.
She goes through inner humiliation. She blames herself.
She feels lost. She doesnt tell anyone. She is afraid to trust anyone again.
She feels dirty. She wants to take a shower. But it doesnt help. Nothing helps.
She develops a fear of crowds, of being alone, of being close to a male again.
She cannot get over it. For days. For months. For years. Many many years.
She experiences a change in her lifestyle. Her life is never normal after the assault.
She lives in fear. Forever.
She cuts herself. She tries to die. She doesnt want to live such a life.
She needs counsellers. She needs sleeping pills.
She goes through her life feeling isolated and vulnerable. She often goes through physical discomforts, pains, and disorders because of the trauma.
She will never be able to forget. She will never be able to erase the pain, the memories, the terror, the nightmares.
She feels helpless.
She wants to give up trying to survive. She wants to sleep. Forever.....
Ask yourself. How can a person do this to a woman only for a few minutes of pleasure? How can anyone do this to a woman and lead a normal life while she struggles each day?
Just for his short-lived satisfaction, a man cripples the woman for life. No, thats an understatement.
This happens only because these men do not respect women. They don't see them as human beings who might experience life-long trauma by their actions. They dont care. All they care about is their pleasure.
You see what I mean? The law does nothing. The rules are broken and no one cares.
Until the mentality of these men changes, nothing changes.
Thank you for reading this. I hope u will tell people to respect women and treat them like humans instead of just 'bodies'. Tell people to stop and think for a minute before they decide to do something this horrible to a person. I'm sure things will change very soon. Very soon.
